  • Joey Hegemandid his best to change the outcome, but Hegeman couldn’t carry American Legion Post 67 Cary Colts 16U past Bear Grass as American Legion Post 67 Cary Colts 16U lost 2-0 in seven innings at Bear Grass High School on Thursday.
  • Bear Grass couldn’t get anything going as long as Hegeman was pitching. Hegeman held Bear Grass hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.
  • The game’s last lead went to Bear Grass thanks to a first inning rally that saw one run cross the plate on an RBI double byReid Harrison.

  • A groundout byBraxton Manning gave Bear Grass the lead in the fifth inning.
  • Johnny Anknerled American Legion Post 67 Cary Colts 16U’s offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He singled in the first inning.
  • In the top of the first, American Legion Post 67 Cary Colts 16U grabbed the early lead, 2-0.Ryan Smith kicked things off for American Legion Post 67 Cary Colts 16U with a single. A single by Ankner then moved Ryan Smith from first to second. The scoreboard lit up again for American Legion Post 67 Cary Colts 16U when Ankner scored.
  • Bear Grass put up two runs in each of the third, fourth and fifth. In the third, Bear Grass scored on an RBI triple byCody Morris, scoring Reid Harrison.
